on Pennzoil Canada website, it is the same, but it is written 32 000 KM on the jugs. they even have a 10W30 . but as always, it will be impossible to find.

20k eh? Unless you're using nine quart oil sump or better and just driving all the way all day on a highway going 60-75mph I don't know if its attainable. You add in boost, direct injection, fuel dilution, non top tier fuel and any other engineering flaw ( especially if its a domestic) and it's not going to happen. This is certainly a marketing gimmick just like it was with the exxon annual protection and the same as it was with the Castrol gold bottle and the supertech and Quaker State 20k labels. Maybe attainable for High Performance Lubricants and Amsoil SS lines. Maybe, just maybe Redline Oil HP as long as it doesn't have to deal with short stops and colder weather, moisture though they dont need as high of TBN as more general purpose oil.

I ran the M1 AP for the first 60k in my 2017 5.3L - it was 70% PAO and very likely to have other things not on an SDS … I don’t run past 10k on anything - but there are many store brands I would stop at 5k …
Since then - I have run 25% EC30 and VRP through that motor twice each - and the end result was I cut and tossed pristine oil filters …
How was it a gimmick?

Wow, only took them, what, 10 years to put the claim back on the oil from when it first came out?
I really don’t think there are a great deal of folks buying 20k oil to do 20k - I bet it’s more of a safety factor thing for many - especially those willing to move past 5k and take it to the end of oil life monitors - or the longer runs that Toyota and others allow …

These companies would do anything to increase sales.

The 20k mile claim is very vague (given that most engines today are direct injected, turbocharged, small, and burns oil) and I think we really need more strict regulations when it comes to marketing claims. I would not run this oil for 20k miles in my 4.3 vortec that only holds 4.5 quarts in the sump. The 20k mile claim is crazy, especially in today’s world with tgdi’s and oil consuming engines. Most people don’t even check their oils or even get it changed on time. Just imagine all the regular people that will use this oil and really go 20k miles with it. Their engines will lock up even before reaching 8k miles due to oil consumption. I feel sorry for people that don’t know any better.

I’m pretty sure in the near future, some company will come out with engine oil product lines called “Life Time Motor Oil”.

The product description will probably state something like this:

“This engine oil is formulated to last forever in any engine. If you do an oil change with this oil, your engine will never ever need another oil change, 300,000 miles guaranteed!*

Our life time motor oil line only comes in 0w-8 and 0w-16, to maximize fuel economy. These two grades of oils are backwards compatible with any engine, even in engines that require an oil as thick as 10w60! Use the 0w-8 for maximum fuel economy.

This product line contains a special synthetic base oil called Foreverlube, which can last 300k miles in even the most demanding applications. Use with confidence!

*We do not offer warranty, and will not accept warranty claims, and we are not going to be responsible for any engine damage that may occur. This product should only be used by people that have the financial ability to replace their engines every 30k miles.

Valvoline remains the holdout. Was only a matter of time before Shell jumped in although I had thought their QL business would keep them from adopting it.
