Hello BITOG Members:
Pennzoil here! This time, we are joined by the American Petroleum Institute (API) to welcome members to another virtual community event and, as always, continue the conversation around some of the automotive industry’s trending topics. In collaboration with API, we invite members to join a Q&A related to motor oil specifications. This month, Pennzoil Technical Scientist and Automotive Lubricant Specialist Sean Nguyen and Bill O’Ryan, Senior Manager of the Engine Oil Licensing and Certification System (EOLCS) at API, will be responding to questions regarding the following topics:
Working for Shell for more than 25 years, Sean has held various positions, including Lubricant Technical Advisor, Lubricant Product Research and Lubricant Technology Trainer. Sean has an MBA and B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Houston and a B.S. in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University.
Bill has worked in the transportation lubricants industry for 30 years and joined the API in 2022. He currently manages API’s Engine Oil Licensing Certification System (EOLCS), Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Certification Program and the Aftermarket Audit Program (AMAP). Bill’s background includes additive package development, engine, and driveline testing.
The thread will be open for submissions from 12:00 PM ET on Friday, March 7, until 6:00 PM ET on Friday, March 14. The Pennzoil team and API will work together to provide answers to your questions. The responses will be posted in a separate thread on Wednesday, March 26.
Both Pennzoil and the API team are excited to kick off this opportunity! Please note:
