I just changed my '07 Electra Glide with 18k miles from the high-dollar m/c synthetics to VR1 last weekend. Haven't been able to ride it yet ([censored] weather) but fully expect it to perform well based on the experiences of others.
With XIED's for heat management, a 10-row oil cooler, and considering 90% of my riding is mellow highway cruising, I just don't see the point of $12/qt boutique oil when $4.50/qt VR1 seems more than capable of doing the job effectively.

even though I have selected Rotella T 15w-40 for warm weather use (Southcentral PA) in my Yamaha V Star 650...now I wonder how the Pennzoil 25w-50 would be to use since I have an air-cooled motor & shared sump system; my local NAPA in town has a decnet stash of it...gonna have to see how much it costs
