Peak Motor Oil

I have somewhat of a "fondness" for PEAK oil from the first time we bought some at the PepBoys/PEAK/ProLine Filter, FAR special!

It's been a nice seat of the pants(SOP) oil for my daughters Mazda3 and I did use some in my wifes Lexus RX. I'd like to buy more when on sale again(a really good sale such as ~$1/qt). Although it's worth more...$1.50/qt...JK

All kidding aside, I really like the stuff. I hope that PEAK doesn't ever change their formulation for the worst, only for the better! It show to be a good oil on the PQIA Analysis and in real world with myself and others I have spoken with just from the SOP! I like it better, again from the SOP, than some other highly reguarded oils such as anything synthetic. No kidding! Keeps the engines nice and smooth/quiet.

Ya know, I had a similar fondness for SEARS Spectrum oil, (their house brand oil) when I used it in my wifes Lexus...It seemed the same as PEAK...Particularly Quiet/Smooth!

Peak might be owned by Old World, but they do not make it.Its subcontracted out, like store brands and Wal Mart's Super Tech.Old World also owns SplitFire spark plugs, but Autolite makes them for them.

Me too !

I used Peak oil & Proline filter in LS400 and Peak oil in S2000. The engines seem quieter with Peak oil than other dino.

WPP is stamped in bottom of jug. Warren Performance Products. Same as walmart and sears oil.

I have only used the PEAK 5W30 but, I used it in an engine requiring ONLY 5W20. I like 5W30 in this particular engine anyway('06 mazda3) but, am using both grades in the engine now. Haven't used PEAK since I used up the original stash of 5W30.

To continue with what I mentioned above:

I'd buy more PEAK 5W30 in a minute "at the right price"! I don't want to pay the same money for it, what I can get a more popular name brand for even on sale such as Pennzoil conventional!

PEAK Oil is an oil that we need to keep an eye on for the simple fact that, we'll never know when their formula may change to become a cost effective competitor. If it remains the same formula or gets better over time, then it could be the sleeper oil that other oils were when I first discovered BITOG,(MotorCraft SynBlend, ChevronSupreme, HavolineFromula, SuperTech) because of their everday low price. And then, they were often on sale/rebate

I have seen the PEAK prices only going up in my area and the price is getting too close to the oils such as Pennzoil conventional. Not just popular name brands of oils but, oils that are held in super high reguard here at Bob's.

I do have a fondness for PEAK as I mentioned earlier but, they may price themselves out of the market. I like PEAK because of the seat of the pant feel it provides, not because of a personal UOA(which I have not done) or any that I have viewed! It's all, SOP and price!
