who makes Traveller (TSC) in 2026

I apologize if this has been discussed already. Has anyone been able to confirm who is making Traveller motor oil for Tractor Supply since the Smitty plant burned down? In the last few months, my Tractor Supply has new bottles. They now have the handle on the right side instead of the left, and once again, the bottle is graduated. Is it Warren again? I have been using this stuff for years, and at $17 when they are running their common sale, I plan to keep using it.

I wasn’t asking you all if you use it or not, that is no concern of mine. Just curious if we knew who was making it in 2026! I’ve run a few engines now into high mileage with this stuff but I am of the camp that I’d rather keep my coin for the next car than pay a premium on oil in a vehicle that is by definition one day disposable (regardless of make and model).It’s 2026 and I have yet to break $20 for an oil change with this stuff, Supertech, or recently Kirkland and $1.50 CHAMP oil filters and am hoping to keep it that way!

Whats great about this market is you can pick what helps you sleep at night, though! No judgement.

I'd like to know too.
I'll buy traveler oil on clearance. Been using their gear oil, tsc bar and chain oil, ND 20 and ND 30wt oil since probably 2010.

A DEXOS approval number is one way of determining who makes it. But... we don't have one here.

Search on the bottle or jug for a set of numbers that start with a letter. It should be either red or a light yellow gold color. It may be hard to find if it is their. Look on the front and back near the bottom or just under the labels. If it has the numbers and it starts with a "G" it is Hiighline Warren/Warren Distribution.

TSC bids it out every year. Sometimes multiple times a year. Smitty’s had it for a while. Amalie has had it. Pinnacle has had it. Warren-Highline has had it. Sometimes it will be split up depending on the packaging.

I some how got an RFQ once, and it was 56 truck loads of Tractor hydraulic oil in buckets. Mind you, I’m not a blender nor do I have packaging lines that can do that amount of product.

But it can vary. There’s only a few independent blenders with packaging lines that can handle that volume. So it just bounces around with who has the open capacity.
