Well I took advantage of AAP's Peak oil change for $9.99 and bought about 10 changes for my mom, that should last a few years. She has a 2004 2.7L Stratus and it's always had this warm idle tick. No matter what oil/filter combo I used it was still there. GTX seemed to muffle it a little bit. But after 5 hours of stop and go and doing errands this tick is gone! I can back up initial reports of Peak running smooth and the little 2.7 is silky. I know most of you consider this a placebo effect being new oil and all but the last oil had about 2700 miles on it but it's been in there since November.

I thought I'd share a good initial experience with an virtual unknown around here.

You're using dino oil in a 2.7 sludge monster??? Very brave.I had a 2.7 Intrepid and I used synthetic for 3,000 mile oil changes.

I know that they made some changes to the 2.7 But you still saw the 'mechanics specials' on ebay. I saw a 2004 2.7 Intrepid not too long ago with a blown engine for sale.

Our initial use/impression of PEAK oil was very good too!
Used it in 3 cars and the best or worst I can say is...we didn't notice anything compared to other oils and that's a good thing! No noises, smooth & quiet, good/normal MPG.

Although there are some VOA's on PEAK oil and only a few UOA's, we still don't know enough about the PEAK oil such as longevity for extended OCI's. Who knows, it could be a sleeper oil!

But, as of right now, I wouldn't push it too far past the 4K-5K mile OCI and certainly wouldn't use it for the track or even doing alot of towing/hauling or winter snow plowing. For any of those conditions, I'd want a prooven oil known here at BOB's. It's a good normal oil for good normal driving, everyday, winter/summer, city/hiwy.' Use with confidence!

When she first bought the car 4 years ago I took the front valve cover off and there wasnt any sludge. It has 82,556 miles and so far its still clean and doesn't burn oil. Its been a great car, super reliable and sips gas.

HE,HE!

I beleive it is made by WPP(Warren Performance Products of Nebraska) or aka, W/NE(Warren of Nebraska), I beleive these are the same company/blender. Someone correct me if I'm wro-wro-wro--ong!

JK

W/NE or WPP is the same blender of oils such as W*M SuperTech oil(in some areas of the country) and PepBoys ProLine oils along with MAG oil and some grades of Advance Auto Parts oils and many others too.
