parking at Target

I think the only truly enforceable parking spots are disabled permit spots, everything else is technically a suggestion.

Like so many - we have a crazy number of great spots taken for online purchase pickup - typically see 10-20% in use.

And yet you still give money to Target? Strange hill to die on OP.

Made a rare visit to one maybe a year ago. The manager was near the front doors talking on his iPhone - hmmm, horns pop out - excuse me but where are your (short for transmission) restrooms ? He bursts into laughter - as I’m walking away - “no, no, no, not laughing at you sir” … Horns retracted

If you don't like the parking arrangements of a business, go elsewhere....It's unfortunate so many put their needs before others just to save a 15 seconds of walking time. . It's me, me, me. Saying , no harm/no foul is typical of so many today thinking they do no harm and do not feel they have to abide by simple rules.

I actually do order pickup most of the time.
I wouldn't park in order pickup to go in... I park out in the boonies to walk if I'm going in. I just don't think it's a horrible crime when you have 23/24 empty spaces.

I always park in the order pick up spots. My local Target has 24 of these premium spots right in front of the entrance and I never see anyone ever parked in them. So, when I have to buy something from Target, I always get front row parking.

I can see these spots were probably utilized some during covid, but to have 24 of them four years after covid, and to make customers park farther out is ridiculous. They should have five at most these days. I will wait for you guys to call me a self centered individual, LOL.

I would rather see them made available for handicap accessible vehicles or veteran parking.

FIFY. No “man” suffers from this selfish practice. if you don’t like their way of laying out their parking, shop elsewhere and they’ll get the message soon enough. but the whole rules-don’t-apply-to-me baloney is not cool.

My local Walmart has those spots too and they are always empty. Personally, I like to walk a long ways to go in a store because it's good exercise and it helps reduce grocery cart dings or getting hit and run.

I tend to just park at the end of the row, saves time, and I can stand to get a few more steps in.

What baffles me is how people are so lazy, they will sit in the middle of a parking lot, waiting for someone to back out. Take this aerial view from a grocery store near me:

During rush hour, you'll have at least one person idly sitting in the feeder lane, causing a traffic jam for the rest of the customers. Often times, that will get backed up to the freeway... all so one clown can save 15 steps after waiting 5 minutes.

Yeah, no thanks, I avoid places that are that busy! Or park in the near empty next lot over and walk a 100yrds from there...

I often use the order pickup option at my local Target, and there are always others waiting in their cars in the adjacent spots. The delivery personnel are fast and accurate in my opinion.

Count me among those who choose to park in the distant empty part of the parking lot, for multiple reasons. Less risk of door dings. Except for those with a legit health issue, it doesn't hurt any of us to put in a few extra steps every day. But my original reason is it seems quicker to park in the outer realm, than deal with all the other drivers who are trying to get that closest parking spot.

But to your situation, I wouldn't blame someone for taking one of those spots, if most of them are unused. And I would think that Target isn't going to shame a paying customer for it.

Since I am among those that have never been all that impressed with the Target shopping experience, you can have my parking spot.

I usually park close enough even without parking in these spots but if they are out of spots I will take them. A few steps is not worth the effort of getting people upset but when there is no spots left I would take that spots.

I don't think anyone care as long as there are a couple more of these spots left. They are closer to make their employees more efficient in loading and unloading, not to make you happier as a customer.
