P1 pics PL14476 8K miles

This filter is the PL14476 and was ran 8K miles. The pleats are slightly more wavy on one side than in the other P1. The media is free of holes and the elemnt is holding together strong. The ADBV looks to be in good shape too.

Looks really good for 8k. What kind of oil was used?

Too bad Bosch didn't buy Champion, he'd have field day denouncing the ecores

. Anyway, this filter is off an '03 Vibe with 1.8 1zz Toyota engine.

Pennzoil Conventional 5w30. The oil and filter was ran a little too long IMO. To be honest, the media on this tiny filter felt a little stiffer than the other P1. I'm not saying the little P1 filters can't go that mileage but the recommended oil and filter change for thsi car is only 5K I think.

Looks good, certainly worth at least $4.75. I have a PL 14610 on a 1 year OCI with Quaker State Horsepower Ultimate Durability, ending in June. Doubt it will reach 8k but hopefully by then I will have a camera and be able to figure out how to get them off the camera to photobucket.

There's really no logical reason to bash a Purolator that I can see.
