I'm about halfway through the clean phase of an Auto-Rx treatment on my 2003 Buick Park Avenue with the N/A 3.8-liter engine, 47,600 miles. Currently I'm running Chevron 5W-30 and a Wix standard-size oil filter. When the 2500-mile mark comes around, would there be any advantage (catching more contaminants or debris?) to using an oversized filter for the rinse phase? Or just wait until the rinse is over?

If one will fit, I would think a larger filter would always be a good thing but I doubt it will make any difference. From what I have read on this forum you likely are not in danger of filling a filter. Auto-Rx doesn't release every nasty thing in your motor at once which is why some people run it two or three times on a nasty motor.

You don't have anything to worry about. If you have that much s*** in your engine that it'll plug the standard filter, prevent flow and starve the engine, then you were lucky it made it that far.
