Oversized filter for '03 Tahoe 5.3 - 2wd?

I just changed the oil on a 2003 Tahoe 5.3 2wd I bought this past weekend.

The original owner had a huge stack of oil change receipts. It looked like the 5.3 had a steady diet of Penzoil 10-30 and Fram filters.

Today I broke out a 6qt box of M1 10-30 I had from my stash (old version), but had to buy a filter. I bought a WIX, but it looked rather short.

It was identical in size to the Fram I pulled off, but there is no clearance issue and seems like a longer filter would fit just fine!

What oversized filters can I use for this application?

AC Delco PF59 was the longer filter for the 5.3, phased out in 2002 or 2003. The PF59 had an anti-drainback valve.

I still have a couple on hand, so I haven't looked for cross-references recently. When that filter was current, Napa and Purolator made equivalents. The Supertech/STP number was 3675.

I'm assuming, maybe wrongly, that threads and gasket diameter weren't changed when GM switched to the shorter filter.

2002 was the last year for the larger filter and looking at the specs on the Wix site, it looks like they are identical except the 2003 has a 3.5" long filter, and the 2002 has a 4 3/32" long filter. Both are same threads, same outer diameter, and list the same gasket specs.

Here are some different oversized filter numbers in several brands. Hopefully you'll choose a Champion made product, but here they are: AC Delco-PF58, PF59, or PF61. Champ-PH59. Fram-PH3675. Mobil 1-M1-206. Purolator-L25288 or L20123. STP-S3675. Supertech-ST3675. WIX-51522

I've been using the Amsoil EaO 30 on these engines for longer 15k+ mile OCI's. It's an inch or 2 longer thatn the 3675 #'s. This filter also fits a 307 Olds engine from yesteryear and is the longer version of Amsoil's Eao32 and 64.
