Oversized Filter for 03 Honda Odyssey

Currently running the standard sized Fram X2 filter with Motorcraft 5W20. I plan to switch to Mobil 1 0W20 at next oil change and would like to put an oversized filter on the car at the same time. Is there an oversized M1 or Fram X2 available (3.5ltr V6)?

If the V6 has the same threads as the civic, then the purolator 24458 would work as an oversized filter.

The Wix #51344 would be a good filter to use.
The Wix #51334 will work but has less filter media.

Try the M1 105, Bosch 3320, or the Amsoil SDF 20.

FYI, this filter does NOT work on an '03 Accord I4. I tried it for the first time a few weeks ago and it leaked (more like splashed!) despite tightening it down as much as I could. Interestingly, the same filter works fine on a '95 Hyundai Accent. The '95 Accent and '03 Accord both spec the same stock filter size.

Good catch. I guess I should of prefaced my post with the caveat that I didn't try all the combinations personally. I just gathered info from various posts and websites.

I would recommend anyone trying anything but the stock filter size to double check anyone's info as we're all human and prone to mistakes, and then to closely monitor any oversized installations for possible leaks.

I apologize if the info I provided lead to any heartaches.

Regarding those filters that appear to fit but have bypass valve pressures that are slightly higher, ie: 12-15 vs the original 8-11. Does this make much difference with regard to engine longevity?

Tim tried the 51626/3985 on my advice since it works great on my 2.7 liter Hyundai V-6. I feel badly about his results, but not nearly as badly as I'd have felt if he hadn't caught the lube barf before his sump emptied.

Actually Ray, I tried the 3985 on my 95 Accent based on your advice and it worked. I made my own decision to try it on the 03 Accord, so I'll remove you from any liability claims.
