Filter Opinions? RP vs Amsoil - Worth using larger filter?

Hello! First post so I'll try and make some sense of all this. I've been trying to do some research here and online about oil filters and it seems like no one can come to any consensus which brand is "superior". Information is so conflicting it's like asking "what's the best soda".. There simply isn't a "best" from my understanding?

Currently I own a 2013 G37X with soon to be 123k miles on it. I'm switching from PP Ultra/High Mileage for Redline in hopes of quieting my top end chatter which people have expressed Redline should remedy. I change my oil every 3,000 miles as I'm currently tuned FWIW. I always let my car warm up and monitor oil temps when I can, but as some know these motors definitely run hot. Sitting around 200F on a hot day, and easily climbing up to 220+ with highway pulls. Hottest I've seen was 247 but I let off seeing that.

Needless to say I take good care of my car and want what's best for it, but I also drive my car hard when I can. I've read good things on Amsoil filters and surprisingly Royal Purple? Who I didn't even know made oil filters if I'm honest. I previously used M1 but became under the impression Wix provided better filtering and so I started using their XP lineup. (Recently found that many don't like Wix and especially not the XP).. I've also been using the larger M56 v8 filters for years now as many other Infiniti owners online have shown they're slightly larger and provide slightly more media. But I'm slightly concerned with the difference in bypass relief settings, and flow rate? Maybe it's so marginal it doesn't matter? I would assume the specifications of a v8 filter would meet or exceed the standards of the smaller v6 filters but I cannot find any info proving or disproving usage is harmful or not with this setup.

So that begs the question, is there some special filter that caters more to my driving habits while providing above average filtering? Should I keep using the slightly larger v8 filters? Any info would be extremely helpful, thanks!

A bigger filter is usually better but a well maintained engine usually outlast the trans or chassis. Just use a filter.

I like WIX filters... ;) Some now have adopted Purolator's "Smart Fusion" reinforced backing on the media. Do you know if yours is one of them? Have you cut it open? With your driving style & routine changes at 3k there's really nothing more you need to do. You could try other brands but your WIX is just fine as well.

Use a Fram 7317.

Another good choice is Full from Napa.
The shorty is 2-ONS002, while the longer filter is 2-ONS001

Ended up grabbing the last Fram XG7317. After careful consideration it seems they're near identical to a few filters, provide the same if not better filtering compared to competitors as well as decent design. Probably the most commonly used filter brand in America at this point. Seems like the all season of tires of oil filters for the most part.

I think my engine would outlast quite a few Nissan transmissions ha.. The rusty rear subframe is a whole different story.
