Overpriced truck; '97 F-350.

I see alot of comments here from people not in the rust belt. 80's and 90's trucks are getting sought after and considering they don't exist anymore in the rust belt....people are willing to pay big money.

If this had less than 100k miles on it I could see it fetch this price on Bring-a-trailer.com. But considering the mileage, $15k is more like it.

BUT....you guys down in TX or CA can just drive around the block and find one of these that are still running and in good shape. Up here in New England.... these dissolved 15 years ago!
It's getting to the point here that the 1st gen super duty and the GMT800s are gone here too.

I was also thinking $12‐15k in SW Colo, assuming PSD. This is entry level diesel territory for the flat brim crowd.

I'd much rather get into '99-02 with a PSD. They were more comfortable and better in almost every way.

People romanticize these but if you're used to newer vehicles and you've aged a bit you find it's not what you remember from your youth. YMMV and good luck

Actually, that price may be the correct price.

Remember the auction setup at this

Huh? I don't know what that means.
I'm old...way back, it was common for people to say "I wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole", when referring to something they wouldn't consider buying, dating, whatever.

"The expression "I wouldn't touch that with a 10-foot pole" is an idiom used to express strong dislike, aversion, or refusal to be involved with something or someone. It implies a desire to maintain a significant distance and avoid any interaction due to the perceived negative qualities or risks associated with the subject."

And the irony is a bunch of internet clowns saying they won't touch it with the proverbial 10 footer are poking dents in the poor old truck.

I see these all over northeast Maryland and personally i like them.
Most are in great shape which puzzles me due to liberal road salt use.

Those are popular with a lot of folks because that is the last generation of simple and reliable Ford diesel trucks. The 6.0 that followed the 7.3 was a mechanical mess. Then came constantly regenerating particulate filters and DEF systems. Sometimes nostalgia has a basis in facts and reality.

It is a nice truck. Looks well maintained. Also appears someone "current owner or?" spent a good bit of coin on the suspension and the (not really needed) wheels. Problem is .... for the past ten years now , everyone on internet thinks any vehicle with a few years on them are worth a small ransom. Very limited pool of possible buyers who will even consider paying that for it.
You guys need to look what insanity pricing really is and check out the asking for any Ford Bronco "full size from the late 70s thru mid 90s when they stopped original production. TRUE insanity prices and not for just any over restored ones.... These maniacs want $100,000+ for even high miles in decent "survivor" shape. Not any 1000 point show #1 condition rated classic trucks/broncos either.

It’s a collectors item at this point, plain and simple.
How many do you see with basically NO rust in them? Very, very few…hence the price.
Someone will pay close to that happily.
