Going to Oshkosh AirVenture has been on my bucket list for a long time. Flying in would be at or near the top! Anybody else watching YouTube posts related to AirVenture 2025?

Getting my PPL was a goal most of my life. In 2019 I started training, then the pandemic hit and everything shut down. By the time things started opening up, I had turned 60 and questioned whether I should continue with training or not, and chose not to. That still hasn't dampened my desire to attend, or especially fly into with an experienced pilot, AirVenture.

Anybody needing an extra set of eyes and ears in 2026, please let me know. I'd be happy to split costs. We can meet up anywhere between central Texas and Middleton in Madison (our daughter lives there).

This B-25, the Devil Dog, is maintained and flown from the school I was taking lessons. Always great walking into the hangar and seeing it. My Dad was a B-25 crew chief in Great Britain during WW2. I still remember seeing his orders authorizing him to "start and taxi" B-25s.

I spent a day there once when I was a kid. Flew in with my Dad and his friend . I remember turning in on final and seeing 2 airplanes rolling on the runway and another touching down right in front of us. Amazing experience

Been wanting planes flying in and out to do practice for last few days. Many stage at my local airport for the event.

I'll be watching Oshkosh 2025 clips for at least the next few weeks.

The USAF brought the U-2 for display, which is a rare sight anywhere.

Maybe we'll get another "accidental" supersonic pass (M1.05-ish) by the viper demo team?
No doubt the raptor will go gangbusters again.

I spent five winters at Offutt AFB (Omaha) and worked intelligence. When the base had open house/air shows, I'd go to the flight line and climb in and all over the aircraft before the crowds arrived.

It was always a good show when SAC commanders changed (SR-71 flyovers, etc).

I watch the YouTube videos every day! I found one today with live arrivals and a map view from a flight tracker. I went about 6 or 7 years ago and am dying to return. I think next year might be the year. My work schedule always interferes. It's a 6 hour drive from me, so I like to camp. Besides that, camping is a big part of the fun.
