Hello all.

I have about 50K on my Silverado and there is a slight brake pulsation when I apply the brakes at 60MPH.

O'Reilly is one of the few places that turn rotors. I am going to see if any rotor imperfections can be turned out. The guy at the place said he would give me a discount on rotor turning if I bought pads from him.

Looks like one of O'Reilly best pads is a BrakeBest Select Ceramic pads that run $55 for the front set with all included hardware.

If I have to get rotors I have chosen the Bosch QuietCast rotors with lifetime warranty for $66 each vs. the BrakeBest Select rotors for $50 each which only have a 2 year warranty. Do you guys think the Bosch rotors are worth $32 extra?

Is O'Reilly brakes good? Are their rotors decent?

Thanks.

If you have a slight pulsation, that should easily be turned out... I bet your brake pads are in good shape as well. 50k is not that many miles if not towing.

I need to take the wheel off and look at the pads still.

Your OEM rotors will be better than most aftermarket ones, so turn them and put new pads on. For the price of a set of pads, it's best as the old ones may be worn uneven or glazed. Make sure you break in the new pads and you should have as new braking.

I have used the Brakebest pads and they last a long time and are pretty good. I highly recommend Akebono pads over the Brakebest. Not sure if O'Reilly's can order them or get them but they are worth the extra money unless you are towing heavy loads. I would turn the OEM rotors as they will be better than most aftermarket. Akebono make many OEM pads and why new brakes feel so smooth and strong. IMO they beat the Thermoquiets too.
