Opened SL oil....any good still?

Found some opened jugs of 5w30 GTX and 10w30 Pennzoil sl/sj rated in my father inlaws garage. I don't believe in wasting oil so I was wondering can I still use it if i give it a good shake?

shake isn't needed. it is good to use assuming there's not dirt or foreign debris in the container.

the shelf life of oil is amazingly long.

Shaking is good as some additives will settle out over time. Of no importance.

So a few you say shake isn't needed...why is a shake not needed?...

There might be microbial gel near the bottom of the bottle, if enough moisture was absorbed and stuff started to grow. Check for cloudiness - maybe pour it into a clear container and check.

This will be a summer fill for sure. the mix will be 2 quarts pennzoil sl 10w30, 2 quarts GTX sl 5w30, and 2 quarst 5w30 Shell sm. I think I might want to do an analysis with this one just out of couriosity.

Thanx for the tips guys.....I did check inside the jugs and the oil was still clean and transparent looking.
