For those that take it, including myself what do you think? I don't od on the stuff, maybe too much like anything else is never good.

Once you're dead you'll never have to worry about cancer or anything else again. Until then common sense might just carry the day. If you believed every study that appeared in print somewhere you'd be a nervous wreck.

I have taking it for several years now. I take 3 caplet which contain 300mg of Omega 3 in each caplet. It has done wonders for my triglyeride count. I guess it just depends on do I want to die from a stroke or heart attack, or by not being able to pee without a bag.

+1 At the end of the road something will do you in thats guaranteed.

What is really scary is what studies are showing that cholesterol medicines do to the body. Now those are some bad mofos.

I'm more and more convinced that supplements are evil, unless you have an existing medical problem that requires supplements. Omega-3s have benefits, so eat fish. Don't pop pills and jack your blood levels above "normal" values for a good diet.

I read & take advice from the Mayo Clinic Newsletter and Consumer Reports Health Newsletter. They have doctors who are experts in the field review these type of studies and provide patient advice.

I myself do you have time to read all the studies coming out and make sense of them.

My father was a immunologist, with a PhD in microbiology. Back in the '70s, there was a stink about saccarin causing cancer. My father, who was definitely in the know, just shook his head and said, "If they gave those mice the same amount of water as they gave them saccarin, they'd get cancer from the water!"

Pure science requires flawless techniques, and pure science has no agenda. As humans are attempting to practice science, we will always conclude on something less. (Until five years from now when the conclusions will be different.)

I too take omega 3 capsules everyday after lunch. My thought on this.......let's see.......how many eskimo indians or japanese natives that primarily consume fish on a daily basis, have cancer? Ever heard of any??? I wonder how much that stupid study cost us tax payers??? I remember one study that came out back in the late 70's that claimed that disco music creates homosexuality in mice......or the one that stated that using a hair dryer causes cancer in the scalp. Geesh.....

Give it a decade. Everything that was bad for you in the '90s is now good for you. Everything that was good for you in the '80s is now bad for you.

Meh.

That is what I never understood. They are giving human sized doses to rats. Of course it's going to cause problems!

I am going to stop worrying about what they say to eat and not eat and just eat what I want. Everybody dies eventually anyway. First coffee is bad for you and then it is good for you. They want everybody to drink diet soda and now diet soda is worse than regular soda. First salt is bad for you and now it is good for you unless you use the entire salt shaker. They want you to drink a ton of water a day and now just drink water when you are thirsty. Life is too short. I will enjoy what I east and leave the food Nazis behind.
