Hi,
I read various articles and I am still not sure which type of oil is better for my Landcruiser 80, turbo diesel engine (1hd-ft) 1997- Synthetic or Mineral oil. Now I use 15-w40 mineral oil.
The car has 190,000 km ( 125,000 miles) on the clock.
The oil pressure is about
Idle- 650 rpm - 10 psi
2000 rpm - 28 psi
3000 rpm - 50 psi.
Hope to get help to finally decide which oil is better for my engine.
Thanks,
Israel

What country are you in and at what's the coldest temperature it has to start. There are almost no real "mineral" diesel oils anymore unless it's some super cheap bottom shelf stuff. Some oils say mineral but have no group 1 base stock buy say that mineral anyway some people will refuse to buy it thinking they'll have engine problems with anything but mineral and technically anything that isn't synthetic is technically mineral in a sense. And in other markets there are usually 50 grade diesel oils commonly available which I'd use if my psi was a bit lot. That's not terrible but it's a bit low and if I don't need to start it in any cold temps. .
