I bought 6 bottles of the VSOT this past week at Advance Auto for .67 cents a pop. I was going to try some of it out but for 1 reason another I decided against it.

On a second thought I may want to give it a shot and see how it performs....any downside of adding this to my fresh fill of Plat? I already gave it 4oz of LC20 and it see's FP60 and Lucas UCL alternating between fillups.

Engine seems to be a lot more chattery with synth in the sump compared to the Chevron that came out...wondering if the VSOT will quiet it down a bit? Or maybe I should just see how this OIC does with the LC20

Thoughts?

On the issue of engine noise, give the Pennzoil Platinum a few hundred miles for the additive chemistry to get established in your engine.

A percieved higher level of engine noise is a common report when either simply switching brands or changing from dino to synthetics.

From various reports, VSOT seems to contain a significant % of FM (friction modifiers) and this coupled with the viscosity boost should help reduce engine noise levels. The full bottle isn't needed, 8 oz. should be enough.

I use a half bottle of VSOT & six ounces of LC with Mobil-1 in my Colorado and a half bottle of VSOT & 5 ounces of LC with Pennzoil Platinum in my S-10.
