Most can agree that DI gas engines have their own particular set of oil needs which it is believed why GM developed the Dexos spec. (i.e. most GM gas engines are now DI) . Do you see any other auto makers or oil companies collaborating on new oils specific for the growing list of DI gas engines being introduced to market in the USA ?

"Toyota Genuine Motor Oil SAE 0W-20 for Direct Injection Turbo Gasoline Engines" is recommended for the Lexus NX200t with a new 2.0l turbo.
I'd be a little hesitant to run that in a turbo, but the manufacturer says it's OK...guess everybody says M1 5W30 (non-ESP) will shear down to a 20 grade in no time, anyway, maybe the Toyota stuff is more shear resistant.

No such thing at present time. Let's see what ILSAC GF-6 has come up with when that spec comes to mkt. Check out Lubrizol's website.

Much better choices out there. T6 became popular among DI users of first gen. VW TFSI engines since it is cheap oil and pretty stout.
Castrol 0W40, Mobil1 0W40FS, Pennzoil 5W40 etc. are much better oils for DI engines.
T6 has pretty high NOACK of 12.6% on top of that fairly high SAPS, so not really good combination to fight CBU.

If 0W20 is used, then ONLY one that meets ACEA A5/B5. BMW TPT 0W20, Redline 0W20 and some others.

Mainly interested in the non-turbo category DI gas engines : Low NOACK , Lower SAPS and less Polymer Improvers are the name of the game for GDI engine oil moving forward . This is what I predict (or at least hope for) with the upcoming ILSAC GF-6 spec.

edyvw ... +1 ...
T6 is a good product - but too many recommendations here when something more appropriate is around the same money
(or less if you want HDEO) ...

I would expect Castrol , Mobil and SOPUS (and possibly Valvoline) to lead the way once the ILSAC GF-6 spec. comes out .
