I've been using Pennzoil Ultra 5w30 in my "2011 Sonata Limited 2.0L Turbo" for the life of the car. I'm now at 207215 KM (128757 Miles). Being in Canada Pennzoil Ultra is now extremely rare to come by. When you do find it, it is either the wrong weight and/or very expensive. I'm looking for suggestions to an oil that is of comparable levels on an engine with a turbo.

Dang.

That's a lot of miles in 4 years.

Order Amsoil 0w30 and an EaO filter (or Fram Ultra, change @ 15,000 miles) and change yearly or every 25,000 miles. With the miles you run, over 50,000 per year, Amsoil would pay for itself.

Just use regular PP, can be found on sale at CT or WM quite often. In fact, WM has 4.73L jugs of PP right now for $28.88.

Check UOA's, it looks almost the exact same us PU, I really don't think there is much difference.

If the manual allows for an SM 5w-40 and you're willing to go for it, Delvac 1 ESP 5w-40 from Imperial Oil will be your cheapest bet out of the lot. Of course, there is absolutely nothing wrong with any of the other suggestions, including watching for sales at WM or CT or Partsource on any of the already mentioned products.

Further to Ibrahim's mention of Liquimoly and Napa, check your local Partsource. Occasionally, they offer some decent, certified boutiques or other rare birds at better prices than the usual M1/QSUD/PP on the shelves. One here has Eneos, of all things, for cheaper than M1.

This, at 8,000 km OCI with OEM Filter.

What OCI do you currently use?

Hi FRiZzO - Thanks for being such a loyal user and we're sorry to hear you're having difficulty finding Pennzoil Ultra in your area. You can always order Pennzoil from an online retailer such as Amazon, they are currently in stock with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w-30. Hope this helps! - The Pennzoil Team

OP is from Canada. Amazon.ca, not nearly as consumer friendly as Amazon.com.

And motor oil is not one of amazon.ca's core competencies.

Amsoil Signature Series 0W30 or 5W30
Mobil 1 EP 5W30
Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5W30

Amsoil EAO oil filter or Fram Ultra

I'm thinking either they cut the stocks tighter during hydrocracking, and/or dump more detergent/dispersent additive in it (Ultra) to get the slightly cleaner engine parts Sequence III test results. Outside of that, Platinum is just fine.

Thanks for all your replies!!

I'm going to check with the local Napa and see what kind of prices they have and report back here.

Since my car has a turbo how many km/miles would you guys suggest before changing it out when running Pennzoil Platinum pureplus .
