The oil in my sig needs to be changed soon, and I want to have it analyzed. The problem is that I honestly don't have the $30 bucks to get it done right now.
I want to get a UOA done for two reasons:
1. I want to see just how devastating my K&N air filter is to my engine.
2. AFAIK this oil has never been UOA'd and posted on here, so, consider it my giving back to BITOG.

I will drain the oil from my car directly into a new, clean jam jar and will seal immediately until I get the proper kit to send the sample in.

Is this likely to skew my results at all?

I guess it depends on how long it's going to be sitting (a week, a month, a year?). The shorter the better of course. But if we're talking a couple of weeks, I don't see a problem, assuming you keep everything super clean and tight.

No offense, but if your budget is so tight that you can't spare $30, then I don't think you should be doing a UOA in the first place. As much as we'd love to see another UOA, there are other more important things in life that (should) take priority.

The shortness of money is only a temporary thing, Once I can work again there will be no issue.
