Oil Recommendation for GDI Honda J Series V6

I have a 2024 Ridgeline. I changed the break in oil at 1000 miles. Just change oil every 5000 and reset the MM when its due.
I got the Honda care at College Hills Honda for HALF what my local dealer wanted.

Unless Honda changed the capacity on the DI V6, the crankcase capacity on the V6 is 5 qts. (at least it is on my 2016 Acura) so the 6 qt box is not as convenient as a 5 qt. jug.

The OP referenced a 6qt box and then mentioned having to add a quart to a 5qt jug, so I just went with that.

Yes, it’s GDI.

Fuel dilution is more of a concern if the owner doesn’t make many longer trips, and in cold weather.
FD is more of the 1.5l turbo engine in the Civic/CR-V. The J-series really aren't known for FD, let alone FD issues. With any GDI engine, sure it can happen, but there's been very little out there on it.

Does this engine have fuel dilution concerns ?
From all the reading here at BITOG, maybe some exaggeration but I think fuel dilution is a concern in almost all GDI/TGDI that are short tripped, and more so if done in winter.

For my wife's Pilot with J series that = 1.7 miles to work, maybe 5 minutes run time from start to shut off.
Future DIL Tucson = I think 2.3 miles to work, less than 10 minutes start to shut down.

What's the oil capacity on that ? We had an Odyssey and our son had an Accord with the 3.5L V6 and I don't recall them needing more than 5 quarts. Disregard - I see the capacity is now 5.7 quarts.

Those 6-quart boxes never caught on at the WMs around here. Looking at their website, it's not even an option for ordering. If I need more than 5-quarts, I just buy (2) jugs, then for the next change, buy another 5-quart and use the leftover, and repeat. I also use 5W-30 in all (3) of our cars even though two of them spec 0W-20 (in US markets).
2018+ Odyssey engines are 5.7qts of oil. 2017 was the last year for the 4.5qts on the J engine.

Generally on the smaller TGDI engines for Honda....like the 1.5l in Civics, CR-V, etc.

I try to take the 19 CRV 1.5T on highway trips weekly to burn that stuff off. Got a PRL sliicon intake hose and AEM dryflow filter. Mom needs to let me modify the axleback with slightly larger pipes and borla mufflers to let that thing breathe lol

This must be something new with Hondas. I knew that Honda techs could do this with their in-house software so they must have made it available to owners too.
My 2019 has this from the owner's manual which I followed in order to select and reset just the codes I needed to. I used the display on the screen in the center of the dash because my model has the Audio display. Just a little bit different method to open that display than what I copied here for the standard display above the steering wheel.
