The Toyota genuine oil filters unfortunately (and this is a real shame) only are rated at 50% efficiency @ 20 microns, which is one of the worst filtering efficiencies of any filter. Also, the TGMO oil is nothing special, rumored to be made by Mobil Oil. But unknown if its the Mobil 1 variety, or the cheaper Mobil Synthetic oil as sold on Amazon without the "Mobil 1" name.
After researching motor oil and looking at a large # of used oil analysis's on BITOG Used Oil Analysis forum,
I've concluded that there are no meaningful differences between full synthetic oils brands.
Walmart's SuperTech Full Synthetic is highly respected here on BITOG, and that is the only oil I use.
It's available for $21.48 for a 5 quart jug at Walmart. The Walmart SuperTech full synthtic oil is made by a company called Warren Oil,
which is highly regarded and has a long history. Amazon Basics and Costco's store brand Kirkland oil is also made by Warren Oil and is rumored to be identical to the Walmart SuperTech oil.
For oil filters, with Amazon subscribe and save, you can buy a Fram Extra Guard Filter with 95% efficiency @ 20 microns for only $3.50 a filter. I am a big fan of only using Toyota OEM parts for everything (Except for the oil and oil filters).
