who's talking about 24K OCI's? He's talking about leaving the oil in for longer than 5K, on an engine that is notoriously easy on oil. 10K on this engine, in his climate with his driving habits using a quality GIII synthetic--that's not an 'extended OCI', that's normal (for his situation), and a very safe bet.
I also disagree that the oil's appearance 'goes both ways'. While dark oil may still be suitable for use, I've yet to hear of an instance of clear, clean oil not being suitable for use. If the oil is still clean, the additive pack is obviously still functioning as it should.
