That XD3 Esso POA 0-30 is 100 syn at $4.19 litre at Esso bulk here. I find this interesting:
Esso Superflo is $6.00 litre for SL rate 100% syn oil, XD3 0-30 is $4.19 litre.
XD3 0-30 has TBN of 12.2, Superflo 5-30 TBN 8.6
XD3 0-30 vis at 100 & 40 C is 71 and 12.1 respectively as Patman mentions.
SuperFlo 5-30 vis at 100 & 40 C is 58.2 and 10.4 respectively.
The pour point, this is good to know for cold starts, the XD3 has a -9 C better pour point.
I can run this XD3 0-30 in my Nissan which requires 5-30 oil, XD3 Esso syn oil surpasses 5-30 Superflo in heat, cold and TBN for $2.00 per litre less. XD3 is a API SL gas rated oil, I am going to use the 0-40 syn XD3 in my diesel year round too. I believe a diesel/gas oil has better pricing and quality than gas rated oils. I have used Superflo in past, where was XD3 then, could have used it in my cars?
LTBlazer, is that XD3 oil at $3.69 or is it Mobil brand oil for that price? Sounds like good deal too, I would like to see its specs compared to this XD3.
