Hi all. Bought a Camry SE V6 yesterday with 25k miles on it. I believe this is one of the engines that allows for a 10k OCI. Requires 0w-20.

Do any of you with experience with this engine prefer a certain oil to run?
Recommendations?

The dealer I bought from said they changed the oil on the car last week when it was traded in. I don't know what oil/filter was used or anything. Thinking of changing at 30k then will run whatever synthetic gets the vote for 10k changes after that.

Note: this engine is a beast.

Curious as to how you rate the Camry vs. the Altima since they are so close in age? I have driven an older Camry (4 cyl.), and test driven a 2013 Altima. Really liked the Altima. (Short drive, though.) Thanks.

I have only driven the Camry about 200 miles so far, but am in love with the powertrain. Effortless power from the V6 and good braking power. The Camry so far is smooth riding, quiet, and is comfortable on the road..

The Altima does exactly what it's supposed to do also. It is my wife's daily driver and she packs the miles on pretty quickly as an in-home Music Therapist. The Altima is very quiet and may ride a tad smoother than the Camry. Acceleration is not as good obviously with the Nissan 2.5 vs Toyota 3.5. The CVT is just that...a CVT. You either like them or you dont. My wife loves it being so smooth and seamless. To me, its missing low end torque but does have decent power for a 4 cyl mid-range. We have had the Altima since new and have not had any problems at all with it. We average about 28mpg with all the driving my wife does and recently took it to a trip to Dallas and averaged 36mpg on the highway. Really I have no complaints about the Altima and look forward to driving the Camry more now too.

Thanks for all of the other responses. I will probably go with Mobil 1 as I have read some good reports with Mobil in these Toyota engines.
