Oil Filters

I change my PP out at 6000 miles and use a mobil 1 ext. filter. Is that filter good to go that many miles? Has anyone used Pennzoil Performax filters?

Mobil 1 filters are held in high reguard. 6,000 miles I do not see how that would be pushing the envolope for this filter. You can check out used oil analysis with people using Supertech filters for 5K and filtration was excellent.

I don't know about PZ performax filters. The regular PZ oil filter is a rebadged standard Fram.

Depending on how you put your mileage on, a Mobil 1 Extended Performance should be good for 15k or more. YMMV due to your type of service.

Most of my vehicles get 9-11K miles a year. I change the oil twice a year with PP in most cases.

I also use Mobil 1 or Amsoil filters but they are used thru 2 OCIs. I do however, dump and re-install them during the re-use cycle mostly because I run a thinner oil in the winter.

I'd say they could go 10k no problem..
