I dont really drive to much and was going to use Havoline and a Wix filter and change the oil every 3 months. But I only drive maybe 4-5000 miles a year and was wondering if I could use the filter twice before changing? Thanks for the help.

If it were me, I'd change both oil and filter every 6 months. You would still be logging only 2 to 2.5K miles. Any decent dino oil and filter should handle that OCI nicely. If you really want to play it super safe, you could use LC with the dino, or just go with a synthetic every 6 months.
I would just buy a cheap filter and Havoline and replace both every six months. I put only 5k a year on one of my cars but I change the filter and oil twice a year just to be safe.
Yep ..Spring and Fall. Nice comfy weather. 6 months will do fine for you, IMHO. If you brave the severe cold, then consider a synth. If you do exclusively short trips, then consider a lower visc
I was kinda thinking since my truck takes 6 quarts I would get a 5 quart jug of havoline and a quart of mobil 1. Think thats good for 6 month intervals?
If you're gonna do that, save some cash and just get the Motorcraft semi-synthetic (or Trop Artic or Chevron or Kendall). It's an excellent oil (just as good as, if not better than Havoline) at an extremely reasonable price. My Wal-mart has them for 1.93 a quart, almost a buck cheaper than the other premium dinos.
IMveryHO mobil 1 is an overpriced and overrated oil and so are their filters.
