I just picked up a Carquest 85522 with an anti drain back valve for an 02 LS1 for $12 in Whitby Ontario Canda, not sure how that compares but a bit more then I wanted to spend but I guess the 3.50 AC delcos are gone

Joe! Glad to see you finally join!

You should've gone with the K&N like I told you too. CT sells them for $13.59 when on sale (which is every 4-6 weeks usually)

Thanks Patman, I will need to find a CT that carries the HP2006 as both of them that are close to me didn't have them last time I checked, but perhaps I will try the Partsource store in the Shwa. .... I have been using the K/N on my stern dive boat motor so perhaps it's time to do the car as well

I wish I could use the HP2006 on my Vette, but the lower stance plus the thinner oil pan means an HP2006 is not possible, I must use the stock HP1007. But no Canadian Tire keeps them in stock, so they must be ordered. I am hoping Parts Source carries them in stock though, I'll be checking out the new one in Brampton this weekend to see.

PF52C AC Delco in Sudbury Ontario is CDN$6 so I would go with that before I would go with a NAPA gold for more money.

Say guys, the new AC Delco Oil Filters are white whereas I always see them blue on the net.

Are our white AC DELCOs any different.

For this winter, I am going K&N for added protection.

What I saw of the insides of the old blue AC's, they were great filters compared to anything near the same price. One white one can't hurt your engine too much. When you take if off, chop it open and post a picture here. Measure the filter area.

Anyone have an opinion on the Valvoline MaxLife oil filters?? Look like their made by Purolater as well, but what about the internal specs?

Valvoline Maxlife oil filters? Where are they sold up here? I've never even heard of them, let alone seen one in person. How much do they cost?

I saw them alongside the QS's at CTin Scarborough this morning. The selection was limited for both the QS and the ML and they are identically priced at about 7.99ish

Just yesterday in Sudbury, Ontario I steered two people from the orange can of doom and had them buy the white QS filters.

I just returned from CT folks, Its true. They are selling Maxlife filters and the QS whites ARE NOT FRAMS. Both the maxlife and QS white seem to be well built. I bought a Maxlife for my explorer. I might say I am happy now that Ct sells good filters. I dont have to travel 30 mins to napa anymore

I'll post some pics later

Most medium and larger metropolitan areas will have ACDelco distributors and Baldwin filter distributors. A telephone call might give the price and availablity of either a case of filters or local retailers that sell them.
