I performed an oil change about two weeks ago, and I usually go to our local parts place to pick-up and AC Delco filter. The filters I used to get were white, said AC Delco on them and were made in Canada by the Dana Corporation. Now, I was given a blue Delco, that was made in the USA. Since then, I have been getting this weird noise from the car, and mechanical noise like a chain whine from a motorcycle. Any comments, cause it sounds, weird?

Troubleshoot it by replacing it with another brand. It could be a Champion thing that may be similar with STP or Supertech - so try a Purolator/Motorcraft/Bosch/Napa/Wix -type brand.

Empty the old AC Delco contents into a container & let sit - so it may be used again if the trouble is not filter-related.

For those of us who are curious about such things - what part number and is the filter a convential design Champion or an ecore design? Inquiring minds want to know!

The ones made by DANA(wix) replace the old OEM manufacturer (Delphi), your new one could be a Champion or an old stock Delphi one.
