Please relocate if incorrect Category or remove if not allowed. It’s a bit localized.

Folks in Santa Ana or nearby OC area may take up to 2 used oil filters and receive 2 new filter at the 2 locations listed on the flyer. I turned in the 2 I recently c&p here, M1-103A and a factory Toyota filter 90915-10009. I used plastic wrapping to have it hold together. I got 2 M1-103A in return.

That's a nice trade. I'm in Torrance, and they have a similar trade program going today. I didn't bother going, figuring they would offer some junk in replacement.
It could be anything up to $15 value, and also depends on OReilly or AutoZone. I’m surprised I got Mobil 1s this time.

At another AutoZone earlier in the year, I got a standard STP.
At OReilly this past July, I got a Microguard select MSL10332

Who is paying for this free oil filter exchange? It is probably the CA taxpayers since there is no such thing as a free lunch in life. In socialism, everything is free until they run out of tax payers money.
Exchanging oil filters is now socialism? Really?
While you're at it tell your county to skip your street w/new asphalt...woops! 🫢

There is most certainly such a thing as a free lunch.
See this thread:

Nothing out of the taxpayers either.

It’s down to the last weekend for this oil filter exchange event in Santa Ana California. November 30th is your last day.

Question for the Bitogers,
Which would you choose?

AutoZone: Choice between Mobil 1 and STP XL

OReilly auto: Choice of Mobil 1 and MG MSL

Is this filter exchange thing only in CA? I should call my local AZ or O'Reilly's and see.

It’s a state funded program called CalRecycle. Of course funded by taxpayers.

Check your state for a Recycling program. Or search oil filter exchange program/event for your region.

And yes, call your local AZ/OR if they’ve heard.
