Oil Density

Density is driven mostly by base oils, with small differences across different types (unless you move into specialised base oils like PFPE or silicones). As stated above, it's not a performance characteristic and you get what you're given by the base oils and additives that you use to get the performance you are after. Density is used for sales and filling reasons - often fluids are shipped and filled by weight - and for safety response. It might be interesting to a consumer but it is not important.
