Oil changes in dusty conditions?

I need to do an oil change, which consists of an engine flush, new oil and air filter and fresh oil with MoS2. But the weather has been terrible lately, and unfortunately I don't have indoor facilities to do the oil change in a better environment.

The sand particles are extremely fine, and make it to every nook and cranny of the car. As I sit, there's dust coming in from the window next to me, despite being shut and very well sealed.

That said, would it be better idea to delay the oil change and put on a couple of extra hundred miles on a full synthetic or do an oil change, risking dust going into the engine?

Agreed. If you change it outside you'll only be introducing all that sand into your engine.

Probably replace or check the air filter when the storms are over, too.

Is there such thing as a "quick lube" in your area with a covered garage? I'd take it to them and let them do it, most will just have you pay the labor ($9-$17 or so....).

But, if you got a synthetic in there now, I'd say leave it in there and just run it a couple more hundred miles.
