Oil change today.

Need to change my oil today. I got thinking to myself, "Why am I NOT using some of the 11 qts. of TGMO 0W-20 with this cold weather we've been having?!?!".

Today the Accord will be getting TGMO Syn. 0W-20 and a fresh Honda A01 filter. Will save the 5W-20 conventional stash for warmer spring/summer/fall OC's.

Why are you not using the same oil filter already on the engine? Doesn't your owners manual state this is recommended?

There is not much difference in the cold start capabilities of those two oils. Unless you live on the moon.

Yes, both should be easily good to -20F the 0w should be good to -32F but he won't see either of those temps.

Changed my oil last night, wow, it was cold. I usually try not to need to change it in the middle of the winter, but it didn't work out this time. Hands were freezing with just nitrile gloves on. At least the engine was warm and gave me a place to warm them up.

Can't go wrong with 0W-20 in this weather with that motor.

Quaker State Conventional 5w20 seemed to do well surprisingly in my engines, then i saw the ccs # for Quaker State Conventional 5w20 and its lower than every synthetic brand except mobil 1 5w30 on PQI. Still looking for the Amsoil Signature test ...

I really cannot beleive the pqi test # on Pennzoil Conventional and Quaker State Conventional on the 5w20 test - Have they been since found to be in error?
