I've got a 2009 Honda CR-V. I am at 40% on the Maintenance Minder System and I am at 8000 miles. The oil still looks good, doesn't smell burnt and it is still full. No oil has been burned off. She is still driving great.
I had planned on doing the change when it hit the 15% since it is the starter oil and that is when Honda recommends changing it. I was going to change it with Castrol Syntec 5W-20 and a PPO filter that I got on a special at AdvanceAuto.
Has anyone else with a CR-V in this generation had the same thing with long, and I mean a long, OCI from the MMS??

That's a long OCI! Mostly highway driving? Does this CR-V spec 5w-20 or 0w-20?

My 07 Civic ends up at 15% at about 6000 miles with mostly highway but a fair amount of hardish driving. It's possible that the MM on the newer vehicles that spec 0w-20 are calibrated for synthetic though, hence my question.

No it is running the 5W-20. 0W-20 is on the 2010.
I am pretty light footed and accelerate pretty easily. When I am on fun country backroads (paved ones not the gravel ones) I do drive it pretty spiritedly.
Yeah about 85% of my driving is highway. But not flat highway most of the highways I travel are all hills.

My friend's 2009 Fit is showing 50% Oil Life Remaining after 6300 miles.

The current oil fill is Valvoline SynPower 5w-20 and a NAPA Gold filter.

The newest Hondas (2009+) seem to have lengthened their service intervals considerably in comparison to the older Maintenance Minder equipped vehicles.

Mine is still the original Honda fill, what ever it is. I haven't had a chance to put the Syntec in yet.

I don't care what the monitor says I have left, at 10,000 miles the synthetic is going in. lol

I have a 2009 CRV EXL and I dumped the FF at 5,000 miles. the mm still had me at 50%. went to PP 5-20. going to stick with PP and change it out twice a year. I drive approx 10,000 miles per year. with the walmart deal I ended up paying $5 for a 5 quart jug ( after the $15 walmart gift card ) I have enough PP to last me for the next 4-5 years LOL so $10 per year plus the price of filters, another $11. so for a total of $21 per year I can run the pureones that I got off amazon and PP 5-20. all the while I have peace of mind for the winters and the short trips that my CRV sees.

My '08 CR-V went 10,040 miles before it hit 15%, but that was mostly highway. Now it goes around 9000 with more city driving. I do use synthetic though, but from what I gather here the K24 is not hard on oil, so those intervals aren't so far fetched.

Ok great! I'm glad that its not just my CR-V is going that long. lol I was hoping something wasn't wrong with the Maintenance Minder System.

My Element, that I had before, was always at 15% at around 6,000 - 6,500. So I was just wondering. Thanks!

I get to 15% on the maintenance minder right 10,000 miles on my 08 CR-V....which calls for 5w-20. Just completed my 4th oil change yesterday with PP 5-20.
