The same thing applies to changing the oil every 3,000 (or 3 months). If you're a short-tripper, it only makes sense.
I don't agree the blanket statement, 3k/3months for severe service. Most owners manual severe service lowest is now 3750 miles or six months.

I'm surprised everyone responded without knowing what kind of miles the original 4,400 were. I mean, were they short-trip miles, highway miles, or something in between? Or do we trust Maintenance Minder that much?
No need to ask what kind of miles the 4400 were. The MM is an algorithm that takes those factors into consideration when giving the dash board percent oil life left. I did ask 'how long' (no answer) to see if it was past or close to Honda's one year max no matter the miles.
Here, unless the OP was at or close to the 1 year max, at only 50% MM and 4400 miles he had plenty enough left in the oil for this 700 mile, mainly easy road miles, trip. Still plenty of leeway even if one doesn't completely trust the MM here.
Agree with the poster who said the OP was going to change the oil no matter, especially when getting to 5k OCI's is diffcult.
