Oil availability going forward

Scooped up 2 jugs of maxlife full synthetic 10w30 from wally world today while returning a battery core on rollback for $22 and some change per jug. Prices are climbing for sure and stock was down. QS FS and this valvoline were less than supertech FS which was strange to see.

Have enough oil for several changes on all our vehicles so feel good about that at least.

I am ok for awhile.

I axed Redline Oil not so much because of cost or availability but because I am changing oil more often and I'm more comfortable using the Castrol Edge EP 5w30 in all our vehicles. I did go with Castrol as when I was trying to source M1EP it was more expensive and extremely hard to find consistently. I will say I have noticed all oil is starting to go out. Even the Gumout Regane with PEA is over 5.xx and the shelves seem out often.
This is a roll of the dice since their variety is random, but I found 10z Gumout Regane Expert at Ross department/discount store for $3.99. Not a huge savings & no guarantee what you'll find there, but I like to browse quickly if we happen to be in the same mall.

My Walmarts are all out of Motorcraft filters for my truck and yes the oil shelves are maybe 70% stocked.
Same where I live...Luckily I picked up a few Purolator ONE oil filters at a local Menards this past August since their stock is now low too.

Sorry, new here. What is this inventory? Do you run a repair shop?
I own a quick lube. Supply chain issues are real for me.
It seemed, for a while, that things were getting better but with reports
of port closings in Chyna I may have to stack a bit deeper.
Probably looking at a 10 day buffer on the synthetics and the Rotella.
The filters will be used when when availability returns.
Gotta go blow another engine and leave a few drain plugs loose and strip a few oil pans.
God Bless America

Like the sarcasm 👍

Our Walmart got a shipment of Mobil 1 this weekend, so they had some availability at least in every grade, even though EP 0w20 was not available.

I went into Autozone and Advance Auto, however, and they had plenty of everything. No shortage there, at all. You just pay more there. But if you had to have your M1 EP 0w20, you could get it.

Napa stores near me are also well stocked.

Yep, just in time doesn't work these days like it used to. I hope you stay in good shape with this!
