OG Wire Backed Fram Ultra XG7317 73,000 miles

To each, his own. However, even when oil is changed often as to now allow the filter to have excessive build up of debris....I can't help but wonder that the adhesives in the filter, the bypass valve, or even the media itself wouldn't have some sort of degradation over that length of time / miles.

I was wondering the same as you but after seeing lots of great photos of various Ultras I decided to run it for 4 years with just drain & refills.

Super cool, thanks for posting! Phenomenal build quality for it to still be intact like that.
Yep, these filters are goated! A few days ago, I cut open an old stock of a larger size of these and are overbuilt on the inside.

I wish I could get the ones that I threw away 10 years ago and continue running them.

I still use Ultras, Never had an issue. But I will be moving to Endurance for every other oil change on good running engines in my fleet.

Sand from construction zone.

Battery tray that I cleaned when I installed a new battery looked like the vehicle was driven on the beach.

Thought it was a synthetic blend media whereas the endurance is the full synthetic Champs labs goodness found in the Amsoil filters.
OG Ultra had the multi-layer pink FRAM proprietary media that pre-dates the merger. The Titanium also used that same media (it was basically an OG Ultra with a grippy can).

After the merger, the Ultra and Titanium were both transitioned to a cellulose/synthetic blend media with a synthetic "topper" and the Endurance was created, which appeared to be the same filter as the Royal Purple and AMSOIL filters, a Champ Labs construct, using their media, not FRAM's.
