OEM JAGUAR filter pics

That just doesn't look like the filter quality, especially the uneven pleat spacing near what appears to be the crimp, I would expect from the factory but who knows. Not sure I would go aftermarket on that car while under warranty.

Dunno, I just work here. We use wix in these and in Jaguar cars with 0 issues. So the factory filter is garbage in layman’s terms.

It is certainly good enough as is probably the cheapest Fram or jobber special out there....we are all probably a little guilty of gilding the lily here with regards to filters, etc. Keeps us entertained

Just did some googling and the mesh is indeed on the outside on a lot of the filters that pop up.

Even the OEM, if the eBay listing is to be believed.

Sir: I always value your opinions and thoughts. I’ve done other Jaguar oil changes at work and they’re same. I’m all out of answers, but WIX/MAHLE we use always come out good after 9,500 oci

A few months back, I stopped by the Hyundai dealer to inquire and request a software update for the transmission on our 2017 Santa Fe, or at least an adaptive value reset. The service advisor was dumber than a doorknob, so I escalated the issue to the service manager. After talking to him for a few minutes, and he realized I knew a little more than the average person about their transmissions and vehicles, he offered me a job.

The problem is the lack of skilled technicians (aka mechanics). It might be the dealer's problem, but in the end, you're paying for it, no matter what. The lack of high-quality skilled technicians is a nationwide problem. I hope you're dealing with a dealer that knows what he's doing and how to retain talent around their service department.

I year or so ago, I would agree with you. Bought a Wix for my s4 recently. I think I'll wait till my Mahle comes in to change the oil. It just feels cheap compared to Mahle.

Those are sweet cars. Not too bad to work on them. Shine that thing up, throw on a pulley, tune, heat exchanger, you'll have a car that will surprise some mustang and corvette owners.
