Off a 2021 RWD Jaguar. Factory oil and this filter had 10,080 miles. Wix 57279 and EDGE for VW, European stuff 0w20 back in and on. 5.0 engine

Pretty ugly. That thing needs a wire-backed filter!
Oh dear. Either it wasn’t installed properly the first time, or it “crushed” a little on install. Glad I don’t have a vehicle with cartridges!I think it’s kinda screen or wire backed already

True, but then again I don’t buy Mobil filters because I’ve seen some of the horror stories.
I’ve got enough original Fram XGs to last an easy 300k more miles for every vehicle I own.
Yes it is, but that F'ey hadn't been cleaned in months or even years. Just look at the dusty dirty wheels. Whoever looks at that car will be in pure disappointment. Poor Jag

Unimpressive filter.
Do I see metal shavings at the bottom cap and inside the pleats or is that a reflection of light?
Is that the OE filter? I just did an oil change on our '20 RR and the filter had JLR markings, different, and much more even, pleats and material.
I believe it is two filters shown - pics 1 and 2 are the new Wix filter, and 3 and 4 are the OEM used filter.

There’s no way I’d leave oil in an expensive car like that for 10,000 miles.
