I tend to use OEM filters on everything, everywhere.
Unfortunately, AC Delco has the same quality control issues present in Fram/Champ built oil filters. Consider the quality alternatives like Microgard Select at Oreilly's, & the other myriad of different names for the same filter.
The AC Delco air filters for my vehicles always look like quality. I’ve never used their oil or fuel filters. Plenty of OEM filters are simple to find as a rebadged, cheaper aftermarket units.

I will echo this. I’ve also seen some reports of L5Ps blowing the ADBV out of the ACDelco filters. Stick with a PGI made filter like a CarQuest Premium, NAPA Gold, or Microgard Select. Alternatively, you can go to RockAuto and order like 5-10 filters (PG2500EX) at a time like I do with a group of buddies.
Maybe not apples to apples exactly (but maybe so), I stopped using Subaru OEM oil filters because their media seems slightly better than cheesecloth but ultimately are just well built rock catchers
I have been using Microgard Select from O'Reilly Auto Parts over the past year with nothing but positive results.
The AC Delco oil filters appear to be rebranded, overpriced SuperTech, so why not just use SuperTech, or something better?
The fuel filters also appear to be nothing special.
Not sure about Delco Air filters.
Generally speaking not impressed with a lot of AC Delco parts, as at least for my Oldsmobile they have the look and feel of rebranded white box parts, or otherwise nothing special. My water pump comes to mind there. I am not sure what I am going to do for spark plugs, as I suspect that AC Delco 41-940's that I think my car uses are are made in Mexico, probably by Autolite whom are just rebranded APP606

I would NOT use a champ/fram filter at the moment. champion labs is the OE for the ACDelco filters. at the current time, Premium guard is a filter showing consistent quality. look up any of my many “Carquest Premium 84502 C&P” posts. i’ve cut and posted tons of them. i run/ran them to 12-14k in industrial service with HPL oil. I have transitioned to the Carquest Extended Protection as they have a mesh backed media but are 99%>25um vs the Premium at 99%>20um
I don't think you will damage your engine using OEM filters, necessarily, but it seems to me there are better options in most cases. Anything from the Premium Guard family is top notch, and I use Carquest Premium and Microguard Select.
Typically I tell people use Premium Guard or OEM. For NISSAN and GM, go Premium Guard. Lots of variants, easy to find local, even cheaper online.
I third or forth the Microgard Select or Premium Guard. Even Toyota OEM filters have issues. Another well built filter is the Mobil 1 Extended Performance filter

I hate to say this for fear of being flamed, but if I owned that engine I would be getting a bigger filter. It is way too small compared to everything else I've seen in other diesels, I just don't feel comfortable with it.
