Here is my oe+ prs10575 which is a premium guard made jobber filter for part source. I’ve cut open a virgin one and posted about it here https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/oe-pro-series-prs10575-virgin-cut.381977/

Unfortunately this one seemed to have a small failure. When it was removed I noticed a chunk of the adbv sticking out a bit. When I cut it I removed it from the rest of the adbv. It was barely hanging on. But it was wedged in pretty good from the pressure of the spring and against the baseplate. Luckily it did not get sucked into the rest of the oiling system. So maybe I changed it just in time. I did not notice this upon installation and I check the filters over very well before I use them. Ignore the hole on the bottom of the filter, I drilled a hole to remove more of the oil before cutting it open and it snagged the bypass valve slightly.

This has 9k kms (5600 miles) on it but 317 hours of use mostly short trips and in winter and 104% of my iolm (I reset it at 0 and then got it down to 96% remaining) on my 2018 Ford F150 5.0. Oil used was Liqui Moly 5w50. The same oil and filter went back on for another interval.

Wonder if it was misaligned when manufactured and got pinched and cut, then started separating from the dP during use. Doubt this is going to be a common seen thing. But another thing worth visually checking on any filter before installing it.

How did the 5w50 perform in the cold Alberta winter ?
How many miles on the truck ?
Does it use any oil or did this help with any consumption as these are known to burn oil ( first year with the plasma liners )

I’ve been using this liqui moly molygen 5w50 for quite a while now. It’s really slowed down consumption on my truck. Now it will use 1-1.5L per 100 hours of use it seems on average though. It does seem to have very good cold flow properties but with it being a 50 grade it sure helps with the noises that these tend to make. I’ve tried various brands and grades of oils in this engine over the years and this one is the most quiet by far. It’s also gotten rid of the bbq/coyote tick. The truck has 134k kms on it which is 83k miles.

That filter looks like the Motomaster oe plus from Canadian Tire .
Isn't parts source a spin off Canadian Tire ?
I can get this filter for around $11 bucks when on sale haven't tied one yet , what's the going rate at parts source ?
looks like a decent filter.

I have a Gen 2 coyote in a 15 mustang with 115000 kms only sees summer use I use 5/10w30 and has been absolutely trouble free.
I'm one of the lucky ones as the infamous tick hasn't risen its ugly head ( yet )

Part source is a spin off of Canadian Tire I believe. And they have similar names of products. But these are different than the ones from Canadian Tire. I’ve used those and they are rebadged champion filters. These ones are made by premium guard. These are right around the $10-11 range as well which is one hell of a steal.

Thanks for the info !

If it hasn't developed the BBQ tick by now, it never will.
