Odyssey is around $303, Napa AGM Legend is $252 and ACDelco Professional/Gold is $180 for Group size 47. I've used Odyssey in the past and they've been working well. Is there any difference in longevity? Any other brands to consider?
Check out Walmart. You're buying the warranty, not the battery. My agm 24 F was about $175 with 4 year warranty.Odyssey is around $325 and ACDelco Professional/Gold is $180 for Group size 47. If you get the Odyssey, use the 20% off code from Napa: PROSHOP. Should make it cheaper. Also, read the literature about the Napa AGM batteries. The website says 36 month free replacement but their fine print says prorated after 18 months.Odyssey is around $303, Napa AGM Legend is $252 and ACDelco Professional/Gold is $180 for Group size 47. OP lives in Northern Michigan. Not sure why one would need such a battery for a Subaru. Seems like requirements creep…
Is the alternator set up for agm charging profile? If not, it will still work, I’ve done it, but it’s not ideal.
What is the Subaru cranking requirements? I doubt particularly high…
At 72 (age) -20's F seems too darn cold. Probably need block heaters in the diesel trucks.OP lives in Northern Michigan.
Our place in NH get down to -20’s F and the UP is very likely colder. International Falls is cold as hell.
We buy Odyssey AGM’s for most of our vehicles, including 05 and 08 Outback 3.0R. We use OEM Toyota for a Gen 3 Prius, it is a small AGM in the trunk.
Older Subarus don’t seem to have a problem charging them. They are plain ole “dumb” systems.
We started our Kubota and a Sprinter van as a test at -22 F. Made sure we got winter diesel, and used an additive if needed. At 72 (age) -20's F seems too darn cold. Probably need block heaters in the diesel trucks.
