If you don't get excellent treatment, all you need to do is call the zone rep for Honda. The general rule is all warranty claim customers get first dibbs on a loaner car. Customers who drop their cars off for expensive "for pay" work only get loaners w/ approval of the service director of that dealership if a loaner is available. Warranty customers have priority.

NOT TRUE!
Some manufacturers will do this, and maybe this was VW's policy back when you worked at the VW dealer, but Honda is NOT going to give you a loaner. Neither will Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Ford, Chrysler, Hyundai/Kia, and MANY others. The dealer can do it if they want (most won't), but the manufacturer won't pay for it unless the customer has purchased an extended warranty that includes rental car reimbursement.
Hyundai does it for sure, so does Ford. Dealerships often have agreements with rentals anyway, so you should be able to get a loaner car without any hassle.
This is taken care of by either the roadside assistance warranty or powertrain warranty.
