Obviously you have zero experience with concealed carry and common sense weapons use. (not criticizing you). If you have a CCW you wouldn't even think of "brandishing" your weapon. If you would it would be instantly revoked..as mentioned.

I am in NYC just about everyday for work, and live in a home that is but a long golf drive from the Bronx border for decades.

Guliani gave tacit authorization to NYPD in the early 90's to both stop real crime and to keep pan handlers and squeegee men off the streets (He also got the parks department to put in a full days work and kept the parks much cleaner than before). Bloomberg let NYPD continue down this path, and things were still good for those 12 years, which combined with 8 years under Guliani made for a nice city to live or work in, at least compared to what it was before Guliani.

DeBlasio put the handcuffs on the NYPD, and this is what we have now.

The same thing happens in all the big cities run by a particular group. This war on cops is getting ridiculous, and it is endangering folks lives as well as helping people decide to move...

Some cops are no longer being proactive in their patroling because they will be accused of being racist or profiling.

Suspicious activities are not being investigated cause the big teddy bear robbing a convenience store for cigars is not doing anything wrong.....

But do realize that as medical care becomes more expensive, medicating drugs more expensive, more jobs off shored to the third world to save a dime in a retail store, and more things race to the bottom, the population at the bottom will grow. Roughly half the population will always be below average. But as the barriers to entry for success for anyone but the upper section of the upper half become higher and higher, the folks who have hit a rock bottom will increase.

Add in drugs and its a bad deal...

Nice post with no real judgements.

Too bad some of the comments deteriorate the intelligence of this board.

From cradle to grave.... you are owed Government Assistance for doing nothing, but then complain about wealthy folks busting their butt making a living working 50-60 hours a week.

So true...this whole "I am, therefore my gov owes me a living" mentality our society now has is destroying this country...
