Seriously, how many little kids use this site? Though prevention is a good plan, maybe there are some times when deletion can wait until it actually starts getting out of hand. I have been a member of many, many MANY different kinds of forums and websites. None have ever had moderation as fine toothed and extensive as this site's is. Some of the words that are censored are simply ridiculous. Like the word that describes methane exiting a persons hind-end is blocked. Why? I'm surprised stupid, idiot, dumb aren't blocked too. I understand that they/you are trying to make it "family friendly" but it's gotten way overbearing. The internet equivalent of a parent that never lets their teenage kid go to movies, do stuff with friends... Basically anything except go to and from school and homework.
 
Is there any way we could open a thread about this to talk about it?


I think that the members should have an opinon, to really see if we are being over modded or not....


While I can agree with Helen, I would have waited for a few posts to see where the thread went, then locked it if things started heading south.....


It can be hard to find a balance sometimes.....

If one checkes my replys I seldon if ever use bad language but with that being said any young person old enough to use a keyboard has heard just about every type of bad language there is.

Not saying right or acceptable its just a fact of life. Crying out loud I'm sitting here in my living room watching CNN with a special about the beating death from teenagers in Chicago.

who really cares if you got a thread deleted here in la-la oilland because of someone else? Big deal! Stomping your feet as you are walking out the door isn't going to get any pity from me. Grow up!

Suck it up and continue here (my recommendation) or leave quietly.

You need to seriously get a clue and stop being so pc. This is the dumb [censored] that will ruin a perfectly good forum. If you had stayed out of it the thread would have dropped off of the front page of the forum in a day or two. But, no you had stick your nose in it and create a controversy.
 
We really had better not have ANY religious threads here. There better be nothing about Christmas, Easter, Hanukah or Ramadan. If anybody says anything about "I'm going to pray for you" that comment should be deleted. Either that, or change the rules to "NO Religion (except Christian), Sex, or Politics (unless Republican/Conservative)". I understand a need for control and moderation, but how do BLATANTLY political and religious threads continue for days with not only moderators casting a blind eye, but actually participating? (I like the mods, but c'mon guys the rules are rules and it looks bad to enforce them selectively.) Now, before anybody calls me a liberal hippie, I'm a conservative too. But that opinion has NO PLACE ON THIS SITE. I'm also a believer in Christianity but that belief also HAS NO PLACE ON THIS SITE. I'm just stating the rules as they're written and interpreting them in the most conservative way.

Agree with Gary, it is a private forum anyways. Mods can choose to close whatever they want.
