I think it's sexual harassment............Or maybe stalking......

It she was hot and you are single, it get's complicated. But if you have a significant other and things are good, take it to court and fight for all the little guys out there.

Fight Fight Fight!

That's what the camera would show if she had it on, she pulls out into the road and I go right around her.

I am not even sure if all cop cars in Maryland have cameras in them or not.

If I thought I was in the wrong I would not be posting about it.

Do you expect cars to be able to stop on a dime if you pull out in front of them?

I agree with who ever posted saying you should call the sup. and, if no luck, at least filing a complaint.

FWIW, I went to court to fight a speeding ticket. Regardless of his story being completely untrue, the judge stated that based on CT statutes - obviously your laws and situation may/are different - the officer being trained in using the radar gun and the radar gun being with in cal showed a preponderence (sp) of evidence = guilty. Make sure to check your laws before you go to court to make sure she has to prove it and not have it be a he-said-she-said, she=cop, you=guilty kinda thing.

That being said, in CT the initial hearing is only with a court attorney, who offers you a lower fine or a court date, depending on the offense.

You guys are going to laugh, I checked the ticket, no wonder she asked me if I was going to court.

She works for the NRP, which is the Maryland Natural Resource Police. I knew there was something strange about all of this.

Maybe she thought you were cute, and the whole thing was just a rouse to get your number. JK LOL. But seriously, I would fight it. Especially since she didn't seem to want to go to court.
It sounds like she knew she was in the wrong, but wanted to get out of it. Just dress nice, and be respectful, and you will be fine. Also the idea of contacting the supervisor is a good idea too.

Again I got pulled over by the MARYLAND NATURAL RESOURCES POLICE.

I am so taking this to court. I mean they do not write traffic tickets, they go after poachers.

And maybe someday cars will actually stop on a dime so you never have to worry about someone pulling out right in front of you........ As happenned to the OP.

Unless the SUV got in front of the OP and then stopped, I do not see a reason to cross a double line into the oncoming traffic. Something with the OP's story is fishy.

I just talked with a county cop up at my 7-Eleven, he told me that when he pulls someone over he NEVER asks them if they are going to take it to court, he thinks that she probably will not show up and that she is probably hoping I pay the ticket. I bet she was thinking since her patch on her shoulder said Maryland Police that maybe I thought she was a state cop instead of a Maryland Natural Resources Police Officer.

I bet she had never been to court representing the state on a traffic ticket. If I somehow lose, I know that in the state of Maryland you can pay a $20.00 fee and take it to Circuit Court. I am going down that same road tommorow and when I come up on that road she came out on I am going to go by SLOW.

I should be talking about oil additives, do you guys think I have said all I can about oil additives, maybe I will post in other sections. LOL

Are you high?

OK, OK, imagine this: you're going down a highway doing 60 mph, and a car turn out from a side street RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. It doesn't have to stop for you to not be able to brake hard enough to not hit it.

Sheesh. This isn't difficult to understand.

Definitely go to court. If the officer is a 'no show' you should win automatically. If he does show up, tell your story and ask if it would have been better to rear end the SUV.

It's sad that police departments have become revenue collectors. Many good people (including a BITOGer who recently called police 'pigs') have come to dislike police for this reason.

Not sure about Maryland but in many states Dept. of Natural Resources, aka Conservation Officers carry more clout than the State Police.

Best of luck with the ticket.

I told her that I swerved around her becuase she pulled out on me, she just said that I passed her, I am going to take some pictures becuase where she pulled out was on a down slope, as soon as I came up over the hill the side street was not that far away, I will have to measure it, I am now going to be going down that same road for the next week to my temporary job so I will just have to come up over the hill slower, when she pulled out she was not moving fast, we are talking about a big Chevy Tahoe SUV, this car probably does not accelerate like a Corvette.

I talked with a guy today at the library who lives off that road and he knows about cars coming over the hill so he does not creep out onto the road.

These Maryland Natural Resource Police Officers travel all over the state so she may not be familar with the roads in that area, this road I was traveling on is known for people driving fast and it is not a straight road, its kind of up and down hills.

I have had people pull out from that same road when I come over that hill but they are already accelerating so there has never been any problems.

Go to court. Fight 'em. You did the right thing from what I can tell. There's a good chance the cop will be a no-show.

Dress decent (but not like you're getting married or anything).
Rehearse what you're going to say. Make it informative and concise. Pictures will help quite a lot. Make it clear that you felt you were in danger behind and pulled around to ensure your safety.

Good luck.

I had something similar happen a few years ago. Right to the point - dress nice, be honest and possess a respectful attitude (towards the officer, judge, prosecutor, court, the system and even the guy next to you in the orange jump suit).

take care.

Go in wearing shorts and a tank top, and try using the f-word as an adjective/adverb as much as possible. In addition, have someone in the back videotape it!
