I have recently acquired a vehicle with a horizontally mounted oil filter . Would it be better to use a an oil filter with a silicone ADV ( eg: Pure One, Purolator Synthetic etc ) ? - Thanks

Depends on the ambient temperatures in your area, and how long you're going to run the oil filter. If cold and/or you plan on running the filter for a long time, then silicone is the best option. If ambient temps don't get very cold (stay above freezing) and you run the filter a short time then a nitrile ADBV is fine.

+2 it will all be based off your location/driving style/and planned OCI. If we knew this a better recommendation could be made.
