Nissan VQ35 Oil Change?

I have a 2002 nissan sentra with a 3.5 maxima swap, i am currently running Mobil 1 10w40 HM and a Mobil 1 filter 3000 Miles on it right now seems to be doing fine. Reason for the heavy weight is the inherent oil consumption of the vq35 and the summer heat, i was running RP 5w30 and it was guzzling it like it was an alcoholic, on top of that my motor was running hot so it was a no brainer to switch to a heavier oil. BTW the motor is golden 175-180 psi of compression on each cylinder, coolant just flushed no problems there. TO get to the point i have read on the forum that people have been using rotella 5w40 t6 how is it? Its getting colder in ny got to make a decision on which oil to use . Thanks guys

You did right by going up to a 40 wt. 350Z owners have good results with 40 wts as well. I`d try RP 40 wt. Maybe RP 10W40.

I have had good used oil analysis with Mobil 1 0w40.

I agree - and would run any of the "euro spec" 5w-40's that are available. my favorite is amsoil but M1, delo, etc are all good. did you put in enough radiator for the larger engine? what coolant temps are you seeing?

The Coolant level in the RAD is Fine And the overflow is filling up just fine under operating temperatures. The Rasiator i have in now is a mishimoto or one of the other japanese aftermarket ones designed for the vq35. You couple the bellhousing from the maxima to the spec v 6 spd gearbox and you use a maxima flywheel and clutch, just an example of one steps of the swap. Would the 0w40 be to light?

The M1 contains a mixture of Group III and Group IV. All oils have to have either Group III or Group V mixed in with the Group IV for the additives to work right or so I hear

I'm using 10w40 rp n I'll be using 0w40 rp in winter time soon. Next 2 week Ill pour 0w40 rp oil on my vq35de.
